Te Wa Feteasca Alba (Old Vines of 1975) 2023
Winemaking
Harvest: 100% selective manual harvest, in 10 kg boxes.
Fermentation:
The grapes were initially pre-cooled to 0 degrees C and loaded into the press directly, without destemming, for a much more delicate pressing and minimization of the intervention at the stage of obtaining the must.
Fermented in stainless steel vessels, at low temperatures of 12 – 13゜C with a mix of indigenous and selective yeasts.
Maturation:
91% of the wine in stainless steel vat, 6 months in contact with sediment of fine yeast, with batonnage and careful monitoring of the evolution, to restore creamy texture and fullness of flavour. 9% of the wine matured for 5 months in French oak barrels third pouring and without malolactic fermentation.
Organoleptic notes
Te Wa Feteasca Alba likely expresses a delicate yet aromatic profile, typical of this indigenous grape variety and the character of the local terroir. On the nose, a fresh and floral bouquet, showcasing aromas of white flowers such as elderflower and cherry blossom. There are also fruity notes of white pears, and subtle citrus nuances like grapefruit zest and pomelo. Clean, pleasant palate and perfectly balanced wine with a slightly salty nuance at the end, what imprints flavor and an incessant thirst.
