Chateau Cristi has a long and rich history in the production of superior quality wines. Its name is associated with a notable personality from Moldova, Vladimir Cristea, a descendant of a noble lineage and state dignitaries.
Born into a wealthy family, Vladimir Cristea pursued studies in law and agriculture at prestigious universities in Moscow and Montpellier. Becoming a viticulture and winemaking enthusiast, Vladimir Cristea became a member of the Viticulture and Winemaking Committee of Orhei County in 1910, contributing to reforms and facilitations for the population involved in viticulture.
Thus, Chateau Cristi was founded in 1939, reviving the winemaking recipes of the Cristi family. Its vineyards are located in southern Moldova, in the famous Valul lui Traian territory, known for its renowned grapes, which offer select bouquets and aromas of flowers and dried fruits, as well as an exceptional taste to the wines produced.
