Castel Mimi Classic Fetească Neagră is part of the winery’s signature collection and represents one of Moldova’s most expressive native grape varieties. Created from select Fetească Neagră grapes and matured for a minimum of 6 months in French oak barrels, this wine reflects the winemaking tradition of Bulboaca and the historic craftsmanship of Castel Mimi.

Origin & Inspiration

The wine is inspired by the authenticity of traditional Moldovan craftsmanship: the vivid patterns of handmade carpets, the ornamental details found in rural households, and the ancient legends of the Dacians. These cultural elements shape the identity of the Fetească Neagră grape, a variety known for depth, silkiness, and a naturally elegant tannin structure.

Aroma & Taste Profile

The aromatic bouquet is rich and layered. Notes of dried plums, spices, and subtle vanilla from oak aging blend with the natural fruit profile of the grape. On the palate, the wine opens with ripe blackberry, blueberry, and cherry, followed by a velvety mid-palate supported by fine tannins.
The body is round and full, yet well-balanced, delivering a pleasant, refined astringency that enhances complexity without overwhelming the senses.
